Have heard from other writers that Wattpad is a great way to attract new readers and spread the word. I'm working on uploading my work, too. What's nice is that you can add videos and slide shows to add visual elements.

As to your earlier posts, I've had similar questions, too. I'm finalizing my ebook now, and decided on Amazon's kdp program after speaking with a number of successful authors and agents. Bottom line, it builds broader buzz among readers. And writers, because we're readers, too.

Hi Jan,

Both my books are already on KDP as I agree it is the platform of choice for ebooks - I am not enrolling in their Select option again though because I don't want to offer my books free, or have them borrowed free, as a general marketing tool. I also don't want to tie myself in to only being available as an ebook via amazon - although I admit that amazon are likely to be the big seller for any writer.

I'm sure I can be pretty uncool at anything....though I like to think not! Never been very technologically-minded. I use computers because they are the modern typewriter. I use Twitter because I have linked up with some great new people across the world but I hardly ever use Facebook because this just links me to people who are already in my life...I tend to text or phone them if i want to see how they are! I am way behind the times of all these other 'platforms' like WattPad but trying to catch up a.s.a.p!!
