And now we have Menendez Miracle #6:Parole Hearing Scheduled

Last week, after yet another lengthy, unnecessary, prejudicial, and error-filled press conference by DA Hochman, Governor Newsom announced that he has set a hearing date for the brothers before the parole board. He had already ordered a risk assessment to assist him in considering clemency, which would also be part of a parole process should they be resentenced.

For two people who were sentenced to life in prison WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY of parole, and who have not (yet) been resentenced, I’d say a parole board hearing for Erik and Lyle is a miracle, wouldn’t you?

The date to pencil in on your calendar is June 13. And the resentencing hearing (a separate still-viable path to freedom in the hands of Judge Jesic) is currently (re-)scheduled for April 17-18.

Erik and Lyle walking free after 35+ years? Why not?

No matter how many pieces are in place now, it will still take a miracle.

But, as we’ve seen, miracles do happen!
