Big Things

Well, it's finally happened. Bimble the Bear, my first real venture into writing that began seven years ago, has finally found a home.

I love this story. I love it so much that I'm prepared to make it a cornerstone of my writing career. There are so many experiences I can give "the blue sleuth," and the ambitious part of me might just write them all. I've always envisioned his and Benjamin's story to be a trilogy, so I might just start there... if the first book does well.

And maybe even if it doesn't.

I do have larger projects-- one of which I'm hoping to get some good news on soon-- but none of these have satisfied me the way Bimble has. There's a allure to the brand of story anthropomorphized characters create, a distinct (and sometimes ironic) reality that occasionally feels more lifelike than life itself.

Through fairytales and silly creatures, we can perhaps see ourselves and each other more clearly. Watership Down, Plague Dogs, and Animal Farm immediately come to mind when I think about this, and my hope is for Bimble the Bear to join this conversation.

Only time will tell but, like Bimble, I still have a journey ahead.
