A Little Reminder to Breathe

June has come and gone in a blink, and if I’m honest, I’m not entirely sure where it went.

Of course, the big highlight of the month was launching my newest novel, Turn Around — a milestone I’m incredibly proud of and so grateful to share with all of you. But somewhere in the blur of book promo, personal highs, and life’s inevitable low points, I found myself feeling like I was chasing time. Can you relate?

The world feels rushed lately. Frantic, even. Maybe it’s the speed of the news cycle or the pressure to always be “on.” Or maybe it’s just the season of life I’m in — full of transition, bittersweet moments, and the occasional existential calendar-check: Wait… it’s almost July?!

Still, I’ve been clinging to a small but powerful idea I keep hearing:

Something is better than nothing.

Maybe that’s where this month’s Elevenie comes from. On days when I feel scattered or unsure of where to begin, I try to do something. A few words written. A chapter read. A conversation with a friend. A deep breath.

Speaking of which — I even made a bracelet that simply said breathe. It served as a gentle reminder every time I glanced at my wrist… until I gave it to someone who needed it more. Now, it’s their reminder, and I might just need to make another.

An Elevenie for JuneLooking Ahead

As we head into the second half of the year, I’m reminding myself that small steps count. That stillness can be productive. That taking care of our emotional space is just as important as our to-do lists.

If you’ve read Turn Around — thank you. If you enjoyed it, I’d love it if you left a review on Amazon, Goodreads, Bookbub or your favorite bookstore site. Reviews help more than you know! 💛

If you haven’t yet, I hope you’ll check it out. And if you’re somewhere in between reading, recovering, and regrouping this month, I see you.

We don’t always need to do everything.
We just need to do something.
And that’s enough.
