Empowerment Series: Through the Fire – Survival, Reinvention, and Reclaiming Her Power with TV Host, Victoria Levert

Victoria Levert is no stranger to the spotlight. As a seasoned TV host with credits across major networks like NBCUniversal, BET, Viacom, and CBS, she’s known for lighting up red carpets and studio sets with her signature charm and elegance. But when the LA wildfires came roaring through her neighborhood, it wasn’t just her home or possessions that were threatened, it was her identity, her safety, her entire foundation.

In a soul-stirring conversation on the AW Confidential Podcast, Victoria sat down with me to peel back the layers of survival that go far beyond the physical. “People think survival is just about making it out,” Victoria said. “But survival is also spiritual, mental, and emotional. It tests who you are at your core.”

And the fires tested her deeply. Victoria fled her home in Santa Monica with nothing but a laptop, phone, and the clothes on her back. For six hours, she drove through a literal hellscape of gridlocked traffic, flames dancing on both sides of the highway, and no clear plan on what came next.

She lost her job. She lost her home. She lost the life she had carefully built. But she didn’t lose herself.

Instead, she rebuilt, and this time from the inside out.

“I had to get real,” she said. “I had to ask for help, something I never used to do. I had to admit I wasn’t okay. And that’s where the transformation started.”

Out of the ashes came clarity. She launched Southern Spice Co., a catering company that blends Southern roots with her love of hospitality. She also began building Tropical Express, a beverage brand born from her desire to create joy, flavor, and connection. It wasn’t just a career pivot—it was a soul pivot.

“No more chasing titles for validation,” Victoria declared. “Now, I ask myself: Does this make me happy? Does this align with my peace?”

In a world obsessed with image, Victoria’s story is a reminder that true glow-up starts from within. She traded burnout for balance, chaos for calm, and a corporate badge for a calling she owns entirely.

When asked what she’d say to anyone whose life feels like it’s burning down, her response was simple and bold: “You’re the captain of your ship. If the boat’s going in the wrong direction, baby—turn the wheel. You can always start over. And this time, do it better.”

Her truth? That strength isn’t in holding it together; it’s in letting go of what no longer serves you. And with her faith, grit, and unapologetic joy leading the way, Victoria Levert isn’t just surviving—she’s soaring.
