New Excavations to look for Noah's Ark

Noah’s ArkNational Park is located in Turkey, approximately 18 miles south of MountArarat. It is also known as the Durupinar Location. This location is somewhatshaped like a boat and its measurements closely match the measurements forNoah’s Ark listed in the Bible. While the site does have the rough shape of aboat, geologists insist it is a natural rock formation. Its shape and dimensionsare nothing more than a coincidence. End of discussion, or is it?

Proponentsof this being the landing spot for Noah’s Ark claim the dimensions, shape, andlocation are indications the site is more than a natural rock formation. In anattempt to prove this theory, a number of tests have been conducted on theDurupinar Site, including soil samples and GPR scans (Ground PenetratingRader). The soil samples indicate a much higher level of organic material thanin surrounding areas. What is far more interesting are the reported results ofthe GPR. Researchers claim the GPR, which can show voids below the surface, orareas where the soil has been disturbed, indicates there is a central passageat the sight which is surrounded by a number of individual chambers. If thesereports are accurate, it certainly raises the possibility of this being morethan a natural rock formation.

Theexistence of corridors and chambers has not been confirmed, as of yet. Also,even if there are chambers and corridors, this is not proof this is Noah’s Ark,but it does re-open the discussion of that possibility. Further testing andexcavations at the site are planned.

Quick Facts;

Noah’sArk

            Dimensions according to the Bible:300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide and 30 cubits in height. Since there is not aset length for a cubit, the dimensions would be 450 to 520 feet in length, 75to 90 feet in width, and 45 to 55 feet in height.

            Noah’s Ark is said to have come torest on or near Mont Ararat which is just 18 miles from the Durupinar Location.

            Many scholars dispute the story ofNoah’s Ark and the worldwide flood associated with it. This is despite the factsome 270 cultures around the world have some type of flood narrative in theirhistory. Many believe this is an indication of a shared history (historicalevent).

DurupinarLocation

            Located in Uzangili Turkey, verynear the border with Iran.

            The ‘Boat Shaped’ area isapproximately 538 feet in length.

            Amateur archaeologist Ron Wyattclaimed to have found iron nails and brackets at the location. He also reportedusing GPR and detected rib like beams below the surface. Note: I do notgenerally believe the reports made by Ron Wyatt and his many claimed discoveries,but given the new GPR results, his claims have a little more validity, at leastin this case.

Researchat the Durupinar Location

             1970’s through 1990’s research conducted byRon Wyatt and a team of Turkish scientists.

            2014 and 2019 – A geophysical surveyteam conducted investigation.

            2021 – An investigation wasundertaken by a Turkish scientific team and a number of American media outlets.

            2025 – 2026 – Noah’s Ark Scans plansto conduct new geophysical surveys as well as additional soil samples.

                        The Noah’s Ark Scans isa group of Turkish and American researchers which is partnering with AgriIbrahim Cecen University.
