Empowerment Series: Meeta Vengapally on Building Empires in Heels – Motherhood, Media & Making It

Meeta Vengapally is the founder & CEO of Garnysh, a fitness and tech startup from Silicon Valley that uses real-time tracking to help people stay on top of their health and nutrition goals. She doesn’t just enter a room—she owns it. With over 1,000 brand collaborations, a Forbes nod as one of the Top 5 Influencers, and a resume that includes tech founder, writer, and full-time momager, Meeta has redefined what it means to do it all. But behind every highlight reel is a woman who took a risk most wouldn’t dare leaving the security of a successful startup to bet on herself.

“Leaving the tech world wasn’t about walking away; it was about evolving,” Meeta reflects. After successfully exiting her startup, Garnysh, she found herself at a crossroads. Her children were stepping into the world of acting, and the moment called for presence, flexibility, and alignment. “It wasn’t so much about leaving tech,” she explains, “but about aligning my life with what mattered most: family, creativity, and purpose.”

That shift, though empowering, wasn’t without its emotional weight. Letting go of a structured world with predictable metrics meant redefining what success meant. “One of the biggest internal shifts was letting go of perfectionism,” Meeta shares. “In the startup world, you perfect things before launching. In personal branding, you have to show up even when it feels messy.” Her vulnerability became her superpower. “I had to release the constant need for external validation and learn to anchor my confidence internally.”

For many women, the illusion of “having it all” is a pressure that simmers just below the surface. Meeta dismantles it with grace and candor. “Balance isn’t about daily perfection; it’s about presence, alignment, and choosing what matters most in each moment,” she says. Some days are all about her kids’ auditions; others are dedicated to strategy or writing. And amid the chaos, she’s anchored by a 22-year relationship with her husband. “Balance sometimes means prioritizing us. That focus has saved me more times than I can count.”

But even powerhouses feel the weight. “There have been times when walking away from the spotlight felt like the easiest thing to do,” Meeta admits. She navigates burnout by stepping back, resetting, and reminding herself that success is about sustainability, not nonstop hustle. “Reconnecting with my ‘why’ always brings me back to center.”

Though her public persona is polished and purpose-driven, Meeta is quick to share the quiet, grounded truth of her life. “What many don’t realize is that behind the scenes, I’m juggling auditions, cooking all our meals, and volunteering. I lead a simple life, and I love it.”

That grounded approach extends to her role as a mother. Raising two rising stars in an industry that thrives on rejection has given her a deeper sense of purpose. “My biggest goal is to model the values I hope my kids carry with them for life. Their self-worth isn’t defined by whether they book a job. It’s about who they are when no one’s watching.”

When it comes to brand partnerships, Meeta’s choices are intentional. “Authenticity is everything. Even if a partnership looks impressive on paper, if it doesn’t feel right, I won’t do it.” Her compass is impact, not optics. “As the platform grows, staying true to myself means remembering why I started.”

And at her core, Meeta is still evolving. “You can pour your heart and energy into something and still not get the outcome you envisioned. That doesn’t mean you failed,” she says. Accepting that truth freed her from perfectionism and allowed her to embrace the chapters that didn’t go as planned. “I’ve found it’s the raw, imperfect truths—not the curated moments—that empower others to own their own beautifully imperfect stories.”

Meeta Vengapally is proof that building an empire doesn’t require perfection—just courage, clarity, and the willingness to show up, heels and all.
