Today’s thought

This is cliché, but it’s true. Attitude is a choice, even on a rainy summer day.

But is it all about me, me, me? The world says to find your joy, do what makes you happy, put yourself first.

But that is a lie. There is no truth in that. Putting myself first is loneliness, emptiness, and a meaningless life.

Loving others, putting others first (especially the ones we are closest to), gets us out of our heads and our selfishness. Gives us purpose.

If you’re feeling in the grumpy or anxious Wednesday mood today, stop focusing on yourself. Look for someone to help, to listen to, to love.

Maybe this picture should say, “Seek someone else’s joy to find your own.”

Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭37‬-‭40‬ ‭NIV‬‬
