I'm Still Here!
Hi all,
I'm embarrased to see that I last posted here nearly 6 yeears ago ... Just wanted you to know I am still around and still writing, but I disengaged from Goodreads for a while for various reasons. I have kept on adding books as I read them. I do find the star system for rating books a bit inadequate. You'll notice most of my ratings are a 4 or 5. That's because, if I really don't enjoy a book, I don't put it up here at all. I dislike the idea of giving something a low rating and/or a negative review, because reading tastes do differ. What I like you may hate and vice versa. Also, I know how much it hurts a writer to get bad reviews and low ratings, when most have put a lot of time and effort into creating the book.
I hope that makes sense! I'm currently reading a lot of fantasy in preparation for a panel at the World Fantasy Convention in the UK, coming up late Oct/early Nov. Maybe I will see some of you there. I will be receiving an award.

Hello! I'm your hardcore, most loyal fan from Pakistan, and it's great to see an update from you! I remember I wrote to you once, and you replied, and I was over the moon! Hello! I'm from Portugal and love your books. My teenaged daughter is now starting to read them too. But unfortunately not all of them are published in our country. And, of course, we'd love to read Wildwood book 3 - we keep hoping you'll publish it one day!
I feel the same about the rating system on Goodreads. I found that Fable.co is a popular book app, and their star rating options are more flexible!
