Essential

Agnes Grey Agnes Grey by Anne Brontë

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was completely engaged in this story. I found it educational and moving. The narrative feels a little detached but this fits in perfectly with how I imagine the character to be in difficult times for a woman needing gainful employment.

I'm fascinated by the Bronte's story, their tragically short lives and the dynamics of the relationships between the three sisters. I would deem this as an essential read for anyone interested in the classics and the history of England.
