This week I got Twisted Throttle back from my editor and… whew. 😭 Let’s just say things went sideways. What I thought was a strong direction turned out to be a dead end, and even my editor admitted it was tricky to untangle.
The culprit? Emilio. Typical Em. 🙄 He barged in, hogged the spotlight, and suddenly the book was all about him. My job now is to backtrack, wrestle the narrative away from him, and carve out the story I meant to tell in the first place.
It’s equal parts frustrating and exhilarating when your characters take control. They feel too real, don’t they? But that’s the beauty of storytelling—we chase them, fight them, and sometimes let them lead us into unexpected chaos.
So that’s where I’m at: deep in revisions, negotiating with Emilio, and determined to come out the other side with a story that’s dark, messy, and unforgettable. 🖤
