Hollow Spaces

(written October 2025)

Hollow Spaces.
We fill them with concrete.
Hollow hearts need more than bricks.
When they were your anchor, how easy it would be
to drown your sorrows with wine.
Sandcastles disappear in the waves of
an incoming tide.
Time does not fill the emptiness that remains; it only
consumes.
Love is eternal.
Grief is the flame that burns as you long
to hear their voice on the line
It matters not how long ago they passed.
Nothing fills the hollow inside.
And you wonder if tears also fall in heaven
as you remember your last goodbye
