Relatively recently, I have read “Salvation By Allegiance Alone: Rethinking Faith, Works, and The Gospel Of Jesus The King” by Matthew Bates. Some time later, I read “Gospel Allegiance: What Faith In Jesus Misses For Salvation In Christ” also by Matthew Bates. The latter version is a more popular defense of the thesis in the former book, which is more scholarly in nature.
