Evan Minton is a Christian Apologist and is the writer of the blog Cerebral Faith (www.cerebralfaith.blogspot.com). He has been rigorously studying various theological issues for over nearly a decade. He has engaged in several debates, which can be viewed on Cerebral Faith's "My Debates" section or on YouTube. Mr. Minton has been vigorously defending the faith against attacks from skeptics since 2011.

Mr. Minton's theological beliefs haven't been static for the nearly 8 years he has been a Christian, but the core doctrines of Orthodox Christianity, he always has and still does affirm, such as: The existence of God, God as Creator of all things, the incarnation of Jesus, the deity and humanity of Jesus, The Trinity, Jesus' death on the cross

Pretty much all of my best stuff just comes to me. Regarding blog posts, sometimes I'll see something online or hear something on TV, or maybe even read something in The Bible and that will give me something to write about. Sometimes if I'm doing deep philosophical reflection on a subject, that will give me an idea for a post. Most of this reflection on various theological and philosophical subjects happen when I'm in the shower or walking my dog, or doing household chores. In fact, the idea for my book Inference To The One True God struck me while I was doing the dishes!

So to make a long answer show, my advice would be to not force yourself to churn something out. Go for a walk, read some books, take a shower, watch some documentaries on TV. Inspiration will strike in time. (less)

Whether it's a blog post or a book, I know that my writings can have a positive impact on people. Since I write on Christian Apologetics and theology primarily, I know that I might be bringing souls to Christ even while I sleep, because they're on the other side of the world reading an article of mine or one of my books and is having their intellectual barriers removed. I can also be equipping people who are already Christians to be well prepared to defend their faith when it comes under fire from skeptics.

I've had several Christians tell me how my material has helped them become better equipped in giving a reason for the hope within (1 Peter 3:15). I've also been told repeatedly how I make even the most abstract and difficult concepts easy to understand. These comments make my heart sing. I write for God's glory, and I hope and pray that he continues to use Cerebral Faith to further His kingdom. (less)

False Friends In Modern Bible Translations

When you hear the term “False Friends” in the context of Bible Translations, one typically thinks of examples from the King James Version of The Bible in which words that meant one thing back in the day no longer mean what they mean now. When Yahweh says “Thou shalt not cover thy neighbor’s ass” (Exodus 20:17), He isn’t talking about your neighbor’s butt and whatever it might mean to covet it. Als

“Christians do not believe that there is one God and three Gods. Nor do we believe that God is one person and three persons. That would clearly be contradictory and therefore logically impossible. Rather, the doctrine of the Trinity is that there is one God who eternally exists as three distinct persons. We believe that The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit are each individual persons in their own right, but they all share the same divine essence. Saying that "God is one being who consists of three persons" is no more contradictory than saying that "There's one triangle that consists of three corners”

“Not everyone rejects Christianity solely on the basis of intellectual doubts. Some people reject it simply because they don’t want it to be true, so they purposefully talk themselves out of believing it.”

“The Kalam Cosmological Argument, The Fine-Tuning Argument, and The Local Fine-Tuning Argument all do an end-run around the issue of special creation verses evolution. These evidences establish the existence of a Creator of the universe. Thanks to The Kalam Cosmological Argument and the two Fine-Tuning Arguments, the atheist’s goose is cooked before we even get to the issue of the origin of life much less the adequacy of random mutations and natural selection to produce new species of animals! .... I can give the atheist evolution for free. He still has to deal with all of the arguments in this book.”
Evan Minton, Inference To The One True God: Why I Believe In Jesus Instead Of Other Gods

“When I look at the night sky, I'm overwhelmed by the enormity of the universe. But this doesn't make me question my significance in God's eyes, no. Instead, it makes me drop to my knees in awe of God. If God created all of this, how powerful must He be to be able to manage and sustain all of it? God has to have enormous power to manage the entire cosmos. How mighty must He be to hold this massive universe in the palm of His hand?”
Evan Minton, Inference To The One True God: Why I Believe In Jesus Instead Of Other Gods

“You see, faith means the same thing as the word “trust”, or as I often like to say; “Faith is when someone is holding you over a ledge and you know in your heart that not only will they not let you fall, they’ll pull you up to safety”. You know that the person holding onto you exists. You have very powerful evidence that that person exists, but you still have faith in them. This is the real definition of the word “faith”.”
Evan Minton, Inference To The One True God: Why I Believe In Jesus Instead Of Other Gods

“The significance of establishing those two facts (1) that Jesus claimed to be God and (2) that He rose from the dead is this; if Jesus said that he was God but he wasn’t, then he was either a lying heretic or else he was crazy. If that were the case, there’s no way God The Father would resurrect Jesus from the dead knowing that doing so would vindicate his blasphemous claims and lead many people astray. God would never raise a heretic and a blasphemer, but if God did raise Jesus from the dead, then God implicitly put his stamp of approval on everything Jesus said and did. If Jesus rose from the dead, then that means God The Father agreed with Jesus’ claims for which his enemies killed him as a blasphemer. If God The Father raised Jesus from the dead then that means He agrees with Jesus’ claims to be divine. If that’s the case, then whatever Jesus teaches carries a lot of weight.”
Evan Minton, Inference To The One True God: Why I Believe In Jesus Instead Of Other Gods

“The prodigal son represents all of us. We go off to live our lives the way that our sinful hearts desire, but when we “come to our senses” by the illuminating work of God’s Holy Spirit, we can return to God. God and his “servants” (i.e. the angels) will rejoice when you repent. He’s happy to wrap His arms around you! He is overjoyed! He rejoices, and the angels rejoice with Him!”
Evan Minton, Inference To The One True God: Why I Believe In Jesus Instead Of Other Gods

“I don’t feel that my faith is threatened by evolution at all. If I were convinced of Darwinian evolution some day, I would just become a Theistic Evolutionist like the guys at BioLogos.”
