Thinking ahead…

For years, I’ve waved farewell to the pressure of New
Year’s resolutions. Instead, I choose a word to be my
guiding light leading me through the year. In 2025, that
word was overflow.

I didn’t just pick it and forget it. I wrote it down and tucked it
into corners of my home, letting it whisper to me
throughout the day. When making decisions, even the
mundane ones, I would pause and ask: Does this move
me closer to overflow, or further away?

Because here’s the truth: for years, I poured from an empty
cup. This year, I was determined to learn how to pour from
my saucier.

Overflow, for me, looked like:
• An abundance of energy
• Physical health and wellness
• Financial security
• Relational joy
• Mindfulness over mindless scrolling
• Movement that made me feel strong and alive
• Creative flow
• Spiritual alignment

The opposite of overflow? Burnout. And girl, I’ve lived
there. Stuck. Exhausted. Drained. Trying to show up for
everyone while quietly disappearing from myself. Pouring
from an empty cup and wondering why it never felt
enough.

But overflow feels different. It feels like more than enough.
It feels like space to breathe. It feels like saying yes to
what lights me up and gently declining what doesn’t.

So I’ll ask you:
• Were there areas of your life that felt abundant this
year?
• Did any moments surprise you with joy or clarity?
• Are you still pouring from an empty cup, or have
you begun to honor the rhythms of your soul?
