Tragedy

What a tragedy.

We spend so many years running.

From ourselves and others, without stopping to

admire the view.

What a tragedy that we do not see our own beauty until

our skin becomes lined with age.

What a tragedy that we never open our hearts fully while our

souls die from lack of touch.

What a tragedy that we never stop to smell the roses because we

insist on fertilising our gardens with manure.

What a tragedy to think ourselves unworthy when we were more than enough.

Life can be a tragedy, and yet it needn’t be.

If we all learned to practice a little more empathy and love.
