While the years preceding the beginning of the series in 260 GA were relatively quiet, there were still some momentous occasions.

In 228, the year that young Sarah and Danni were shipped off to Naval School by their mother for punishment, turmoil began to strike the GA. Inflation and general union strikes crippled the economy. Majestrix Deborah Lysing, a Liberal, led a weakened federal government inviting a greater disaster.
