Weekend Roundup

We had a pretty tame weekend, but a nice one.

Friday, the ENT surgery scheduler called, and they still don’t have the referral from my Insurance for my septum surgery. It’s fine, we’re getting a bit close to Baby Boy’s birth in early April (or sooner). Because they may need some help, I want to be available and not recovering from the surgery. So if it does get approved, I’ll push it out until late May or June I think. We’ll see. I’m truly not stressed about this since it’s not urgent.

Oh and Middle son called to ask us to babysit Cigi mid-March. Which of course I said yes for both me and Wizard. But what was more fun was listening to him talk about his daughter…the love there, and his support and admiration of the way her mom wants to raise her. It makes me happy when my kids are happy with their spouses and families. It makes letting them go in the way we do when the grow up worth it! Plus we like and love our DIL’s!

Saturday was a normal day then we went to dinner and had a great time. When dinner was over Wizard wanted dessert, and refused to share one between us. It was comical. Normally I’d just order decaf coffee or something, but he really wanted me to have a dessert too. He had key lime pie and I had chocolate cake. It was dark chocolate, with thin dark icing covered in dark chocolate slivers. I loved it and was soooo full. I don’t think I’ve eaten to that level of fullness in a very long time.

Sunday, he went racing. I happily did my own thing. I went to Trader Joes, cooked myself food I enjoy, cleaned bathrooms and thought about starting my new paint by numbers project. I didn’t start only because Wizard got home early.

Today I might paint, or I might procrastinate go to Michaels and get better paint brushes, per some online tips I looked up. This new project is way above my pay grade as a newbie, with hundreds of tiny numbers and spaces. But I refuse to be intimidated by something I can throw in the trash anytime it annoys me :-)

How was your weekend?
