March 2026There’s something special about a stockman…I have a special love of writing about men who live and work on the land.
Callan, the hero from my first novel, Bilgarra Springs, is still one of my favourite characters. I liked working with him so much, that one book became a trilogy, with a fourth in which he and Aurora pop up.
A couple of books later with Susannah’s Roses we had Nick Riley. He was a little more abrasive and mistrustful than Callan, but he was special nonetheless.
And now, we have Tyler Blake in Milby Plains Mistaken. Tyler and his sisters, Madison and Savannah, popped up alongside their brother, Ethan, in the Reluctant Bridesmaid Collection. The three of them continued on the sidelines through the Abraham Brothers Collection due to the longstanding friendship between the three Abraham brothers and Tyler and Ethan.
Tyler is not only a stockman, he’s also wounded hero. The death of his fiancée is mentioned in Tested to the Limit, and he comes into his own story not seeking love at all. As far as he’s concerned, he’s been there and done that and has the emotional scars to prove it.
But it seems fate has other ideas and through an offer of his time to help with a fundraising drive, he comes face to face with a woman who makes him second guess his stance on love. He moves from holding on to a love he lost, to being willing to take a chance on lasting love.
With Tyler we have a hero who is considerate and courageous, with a big heart. Add in snug jeans and a capable horseman, and the perfect hero is born. Tyler is something special, and I hope when his novel is released you all love him as much as I do.

Second chance

Cowboy romance
When grief becomes a prison, love holds the only key…
Tyler Blake hasn’t felt alive since the day everything changed. The day a drunk driver killed his fiancée and shattered his world. Almost three years later he’s still going through the motions as his friends all fall in love, convinced his heart, and chance at love, died with Calista.
When the ladies of the Australian Campdraft Association guilt-trip him into donating a weekend of his time as first prize in their fund-raising raffle, he reluctantly agrees. He expects to suffer through the daylight hours of the weekend, counting down the minutes until its over. What he doesn’t expect is Beth Elliott, a headstrong, sharp-as-a tack event manager with an infectious laugh and the unexpected ability to make him forget, just for a moment, how heavy the weight of loss can be.
When the weekend is over, Tyler finds himself doing the impossible: feeling again. He wants to deepen the connection with Beth, but guilt weighs in. How can he betray the memory of the woman he’d already promised forever? Can he open his heart when he knows how much it can cost? Is it fair to Beth to ask?
Sometimes love doesn’t wait for permission. Sometimes it just shows up, holding a raffle ticket and daring you to take a chance.
We’ll have a look at Beth, the woman who infiltrates Tyler’s heart, next month.
Until then, take care.
