My name is Ralph Hecht. I’m a longtime member of GPAA and Life LDMA, a retired engineer, and an avid fan of historical fiction and fantasy. I live in Southern Idaho with my trusty beagle, Boober. When I’m not writing, you’ll find me exploring rivers, fishing, or searching for gold in the rolling hills near my home.

I’m thrilled to introduce my first book: Beyond Paydirt at Destiny’s End. This story is a treasure gold hunting fantasy inspired by dreams and shaped by my own adventures and encounters over the years. It’s my hope that readers will be swept up in the excitement and wonder that inspired me to write it.

If you’re craving adventure and a little “gold fever,” join Peggy and Richard as they journey into the wild Little Thunder Mountains. Together, they outsmart cunning claim jumpers, forge lasting friendships, and transform an old cabin into a lively home base. Their quest: uncovering the legendary “Lost Man’s Mine.”
This novel is packed with real prospecting details, heart-pounding challenges, and the thrill of discovery. Each chapter is crafted to ignite your imagination and keep you turning the pages.
Why I Wrote This Story
Writing Beyond Paydirt at Destiny’s End fulfilled a lifelong dream and gave me a chance to share the spirit of adventure, camaraderie, and treasure hunting that I’ve experienced. The challenges Peggy and Richard face come straight from the authentic world of prospecting and my own personal adventures searching for gold. I never thought I would write a book but the fire is burning now.
