I wrote it back in 2012, inspired by one of the most vivid dreams I've ever had. A young girl, lost in total darkness, with strange lights flickering far off in the distance. Then a train — rushing past with images flashing in its windows — and finally, a classroom. Empty, except for her, and a grey, bald figure sitting quietly on a desk. That figure became Travis, and from there, the story wrote itself.

For a long time, I thought it was a standalone book. But over the past twelve months I found myself drawn back into April's world, and the sequel — April Dawn: Life & Death — was born. I'm already well into the third book, April Dawn – Life After Death, and the series feels very much alive.
