Ready or Not

If you wait until you "feel ready" to make some changes in your life, you'll be waiting forever because "ready" is not a feeling, it's a decision. The way to embrace change instead of resisting it, even though we are wired to avoid what is different, is to stop thinking of change as scary or dangerous, and start getting excited about it (because change is going to happen whether you are ready or not).

Glenys so true, had been "talking" about freeing up some time from volunteer duties with church group but loved the sense of doing things for the community. A health scare last week made me put volunteering into perspective and to make a decision on what I was wanting to do versus what was achievable. Found someone to take on Treasurer for our local community garden, which was not overly onerous but was one less thing to be involved in. Then Bookings for the church Hall..which can take a lot of time. Still doing the manager role at the op shop because hubby and I do that together and love what we do, the people we work with and the money that gets donated to local groups. We are stepping away from the op shop on a regular basis whenever 2 persons are on the roster for a shift which will allow more time at home to do gardening, go for a walk or do hobbies which we both enjoy. The decision was made for me with the health scare and a reprioritising of my time and stepping back because I am retired.
