Lots Going On!

Lots to talk about today.

First, the new cover for Saying Goodbye to the Sun is out! Here it is:

We tried to keep it in theme with the other Bachiyr novels, but it still needed a different feel since it’s not a part of the “A.D.” series. Like the other books, Saying Goodbye to the Sun also got a fresh edit and clean up. It was the first novel I ever wrote, and I rolled my eyes more than once during this round of edits, but I left most of it intact (Barring spelling errors and typos) because it is still special to me.

It has a new blurb, too!

New York City, 1986

When Vincent meets the beautiful woman in the red dress, he has no idea she will change his life forever – by ending it. Now she’s gone. Vanished into the night. And something about him feels very different.

As he discovers his new self, he learns that she left behind quite a few enemies. A number of them have zeroed in on him, thinking he is the key to finding her. They don’t plan to ask him nicely.

Worse yet, an ancient group called the Council of Thirteen is trying to decide among themselves whether he deserves to exist at all. They order him to bring back her head. Failure means death, but success could be even worse.

With the Council watching, he can’t win.

Like the cover, we tried to keep the blurb along the same pattern and rhythm of the “A.D.” books. I think this one works much better than the old one. But then again, I’m kinda biased.

Also, issue #3 of my newsletter, The Council Dispatch, drops today. If you’re already subscribed, awesome! If not, what are you waiting for? You’ll get access to more info about coming books, the history behind them, and even a free Bachiyr short story called Ephriam’s Awakening. Best of all, it’s 100% free! No Spam! Go check it out!

Lastly, I’m not getting a lot of work done on anything right now because my family and I are out of state. Check out this picture I took of a sunset over the Rocky Mountains:

Nice, huh? We are staying in an AirBNB that is, quite literally, on the side of a mountain. The views up here are gorgeous! We are here until July 12 visiting my daughter, my son-in-law, and (drumroll, please) my VERY FIRST GRANDCHILD!

That’s right! I’m a grandpa for the first time ever! Take a look!

He made his getaway to the outside on Saturday. He’s so stinking cute! And yes, I know he has more hair than I do. But who doesn’t? So we will be here for another week and a half, and during that time I don’t expect I’ll be getting a lot of work done. If any. (This blog post notwithstanding.) I’m sure you all can understand why. Right? 🙂

So that’s about it. As if that isn’t enough, right? 80 A.D. is still coming along. I’m still aiming for a Fall 2026 release. As always, keep an eye on this space for more news and updates.

Thanks, and have a great day!
