Friday Five

TGIF!! Seriously, as I’m writing this, I’m thankful because yesterday was a long day. So let’s get to sharing five random things about our week. Here’s mine:

I’m having a procedure next Tuesday (a colonoscopy :-) ) and I’m following the diet I discussed with my primary care doctor to get the best results and hopefully not get so sick from the prep. I don’t like the diet, LOL. Well I don’t mind at home, but eating out is a challenge, and because life if doing it’s thing, I’m eating out a lot right now.I went to lunch with Biker Witch, and she was treating me for my birthday and let me choose the restaurant. I was able to pick one and get as nice a lunch as possible on this diet and I really appreciated that. But mostly I loved catching up with my sister! We only live 20 minutes from each other and we don’t see each other enough.I can’t remember if I mentioned this, but we got the front windshield on our car replaced which was expensive enough. And then the glass shop couldn’t recalibrate the electronics so after spending nearly a big chunk of money, we had to take it to the dealer to get it recalibrated. Yep more money, although it came in a bit under what I was expecting. All this drama and money drain thanks to a rock thrown up by a truck. And worse it was on surface streets two miles from my house.I had planned to go see Cigi on Thursday, but I got called into jury duty. That made me a little sad. I wanted to hang out with her because I’ll be babysitting her a week from Saturday and felt like we needed some time together beforehand. But the courts summoned me and I showed up. It was a long day, but I was ultimately excused due to hardship. We were to be called back on next Tues — when I’ll doing doing the coloscopy and the judge  expected the trial to last for a couple weeks, then deliberations to begin on August 25 — the date of my surgery to fix my deviated septum and bone spur. So I’m free. While it’s annoying to go to jury duty, I really appreciate when the judge and their courtrooms are organized as this one, and the last one I had, both were. This weekend is DIL’s baby shower! I’m excited for her!! I’ve ordered the food then physically went back this week to double check the order was all set. Youngest and I will pick it up. I know this is a small matter, but let’s all cross our fingers everything goes to plan and that I estimated more than enough food for all! Her mom, sister and good friend are handling decorations, cupcakes, drinks and others tasks. I’m so looking forward to my DIL having special moments. She has celebrated all the other baby showers, and after all those years, now it’s her turn! Sunday I plan to be exhausted, LOL.

That’s my five, now I’d love to hear yours! Hope everyone has the best weekend possible!
