Written During the Reckoning

Most memoirs are written after redemption. My memoir was written during the reckoning. Mr. Hyde made his appearance in the middle of it. My wife was the one who named him. She called me a modern-day Jekyll and Hyde, and she was right. After that moment, it took a few days before I began to recognize my dual personality. And a few more days before I began to understand why for so many years, I told myself, "I feel like two different people." That realization helped me understand how I could do things that went against my beliefs. It helped me understand how a genuinely good person can do bad things. It let me see I wasn't a good guy who did bad things. I was a good guy who committed crimes. I was a criminal in the purest sense.
That's the book I wrote — not after the redemption, but during the reckoning. It's called Mr. Hyde and Me: How I Live as Two Different Men, and it's available now
