TGIF! I can’t hold back, so lets get right to sharing five random things about our week.

He’s here!! Baby G came just over three weeks early, and he’s perfect! We are all wildly in love with him, and so grateful. He is 19 and 1/2 inches and 6 lbs 15 oz. A good size for being 3 weeks early! I’ll post pics next week if it’s okay with the parents. I forgot to ask when I was at the hospital, and Youngest may have strong feelings about that. But Baby G is adorable!The new mom is doing well. She had a great pregnancy, and then in the last week developed some complications. My daughter in law is the one who recognized something odd was happening and told my son. They were smart and went to the hospital at exactly the right time — before things got too serious. We are all incredibly thankful they did, and now Mom will recover, and Baby G is already thriving.The new dad is good too. I’m so proud of how fiercely, but reasonably, he advocated for his wife and child. There was a moment where the first doctor they saw tried to blow off DIL’s symptoms as anxiety, and the new dad calmly, but firmly, ended that speculation. Things got straightened out, the diagnoses was made and excellent care ensued. Okay, I will try to reign in my excitement and bragging now I was called in for a follow-up with my gastroenterologist’s PA (from my colonoscopy). There I learned my stomach is annoying with some focal inflammation, and my symptoms aren’t acting right in response to that, LOL. This all isn’t new to me. But the P.A. was really trying to help, and I appreciate that very much. It’s all stuff I manage pretty well with diet and lifestyle, but right now I require a temporary med to help. Fine…but do you want to guess guess my co-pay for that med? Never mind, I’ll tell you. $110.00! I could go without this med, but Wizard got all pissy and insisted I get it. Sigh. It makes me worry about other people out there trying to get good medical care and medications that they or their loved ones need and flat out just can’t afford it.This weekend is a wait-and-see what the new parents need or want from me. They are going to have visitors like my other two sons and I don’t want to overwhelm them, just help where they can use it. Wizard is going to try to go see his mom, and if all is well with the new parents, he’ll go racing on Sunday. It’s nice being close by to pitch in when needed. I will see what food they need too.
