“To Touch the Stars” Release Update

[image error]Over the past several weeks, I’ve gone dark–I promise I have a good excuse.

To Touch the Stars, my second novel originally slated for an October release from Dreamspinner Press was moved forward in the publication queue to August 24th. I waited until now to make the official announcement as I wanted to be sure I was able to meet all of the editorial deadlines. (You never know!)

Unlike my previous release The Heart of the Jungle, this story is not a mystery, although there are certainly moments of high-action and a couple of twists and turns. Instead, To Touch the Stars is a work that has particular significance to me because it was written as something of a tribute to the men and women who have struggled for equality over the years–the courageous few who lived and loved openly and made my life, my dreams possible.

I recognize that my humble offering is not equal to the countless acts of bravery that brought our society so close to the dream of full acceptance for gays and lesbians, women, racial minorities, and anyone else who has struggled beneath opression, but at the end of the day, my hope is that readers walk away with a sense of how far the world has come since the starting point of this tale (1966) and experience the same wonder and gratitude I feel when I realize how very fortunate I am to be a beneficiary of those sacrifices.

A further announcement will be forthcoming when the book hits the Dreamspinner Press store, but for now, I’d love for you to visit the book’s page on my website. There, you’ll find the full-size, beautiful cover created by the incredibly talented Catt Ford, the blurb, and a preview of the text.

I am so excited to be able to share this story with you and thank you, sincerely, for your readership!
