The Real Story

I've been told I'm not allowed to teach my grandchildren history. How else will they learn about how the Rocky Mountains were made?
When people first came to Colorado it was all flatland. The settlers loved it but thought some mountains would be nice. Several business men started a great venture to have some mountains made here. They had a slogan that people have heard before, "Pikes Peak or Bust". Deal was it was an all or nothing venture, if they failed they would be broke.
The people they hired to build the mountains brought the material in from other places. One state was very angry because they left a massive hole there. The business men went to that state to try and smooth things over. When they saw the hole they turned to the governor of that state and said, You know it would make a Grand Canyon".
The workers that built the mountains moved on for new jobs and left the town they made with some of the rock down by Durango. It wasn't a mystery why they left at all. They were looking for some more work and rumor is they headed up north and made some fountains and hot tub near what is known today as Montana.

I think this is the history kids need to hear, not that phony stuff educated people try and teach them.
