“State of Mind” Addresses the 99% and the Eclipse of the American Dream

Where will the 99%, America, and the world be in twenty years? “State of Mind” is a future thriller that is relevant today.

(Los Angeles, November 29, 2011)

2011 started with the Arab Spring and the Middle East protesting for freedom. Autumn saw Occupy Wall Street spread to major cities in the US and Europe. The message of Occupy is more about the disparity in class and income, but one thing is certain. People are angry. But where will this anger lead to? What course is the world taking? Is there truly a summer after spring, or will there be a long winter ahead? Sven Michael Davison’s “State of Mind” projects twenty years into the future to answer these questions, and while the story is dark, there is also hope.

Although “State of Mind” is first and foremost an adventure thriller, the novel touches on themes such as the global environment, transportation, identity theft, polarization of politics, a waning American economy and how a future generation will obtain their growing list of entitlements. “State of Mind” examines how people will adapt to technology that is evolving at an exponential rate and how our technology will ultimately effect generations to come.
