Between Angels

I've been enjoying Stephen Dunn's BETWEEN ANGELS, a poetry collection published in 1989 by Norton. Well worth the reading. I really like the poem "To a Terrorist" which, among other things, offers the heroic futility of combating the human intent to destruction, as a plea to be heard. Dunn's masterful lyrics conclude with this stanza: "The first poet probably spoke to thunder/and, for a while, believed/thunder had an ear and a choice." Good stuff!
