Interview on Vivere in un libro
March 17, 2012
Welcome, Chiara, in Vivere in un libro! This is my first interview and I'm a little excited!^__^ So, maybe we can start introducing yourself to the readers...
Hello everyone! My name is Chiara Cilli, I'm 21 and I live in Pescara, Italy. I'm a beautician, but currently I'm a writer full time. I'm passionate about graphic design, I love to listen to music - especially Evanescence - and I love to read paranormal romance and urban fantasy for adults.
How did you start writing?
I started writing the remake of Alien saga, and then I continued with the fan fictions about the japanese cartoons. But suddenly I decided to get serious, and here I began to tell the story of the Queen of the Underworld.
What's your favourite book?
Well, is not just one book, but a series! Keri Arthur is my favorite writer, my idol, then the books of her Riley Jenson Guardian series are absolutely and unquestionably gold for me.
Ok is another series that I will read! ^ __ ^
Do you have a place where you feel most inspired when you write?
No, I always write at home, on the sofa, on the table, on the bed ... It depends!
How did you get the idea of Morwen, Hurrichein and this incredible world?
Morwen was born from my desire to bring up a different character than usual, dark heroine, cruel and terribly fascinating, to reverse the patterns and pay tribute to all the nuances of the dark side that I love. The idea of Hurrichein stems from the fact that I practiced riding for ten years, and when I had to choose a majestic animal that was worthy to be side by side to the Heir to the throne of Underworld, I had no doubt.
How was create Morwen, beautiful and ruthless at the same time?
Oh, it was great! The way she moves, the way she talks ... it's extraordinary. Every her gesture, every her killer look... everything has a meaning. She is perfect, and she is meant to kill and to bewitch anyone who dares look at her. She exudes unimaginable power , she is ... hellish!
I must say that I loved her! She's wonderful! * __ *
What is the character of your novel that you particularly don't like and why?
I would say Ashiwar, because of his little consideration of Galadir and for the fact that he deems him an irresponsible be unworthy to be Prince of Thera.
Who do you love instead?
Who I love? Well, I love four characters! The first is Morwen, of course: I worship everything about her, the way she moves sinuously, the way she kills without the shadow of an emotion. The second is Galadir: I love everything about him, his stubbornness, his arrogance, relentless charm that buys when he smiles. The third is the mysterious Andrer: I can not say anything except that everything that happens is his fault. And the last is the crazy, sadistic and appetizing Deshre: she is really crazy and far more cruel than Morwen, perhaps - should ask to Galadir what he thinks of her!
I admit that Deshre scares me a lot .. I do not know what will happen in the second chapter of tetralogy! About, why did you chose to write a tetralogy?
Initially there were three volumes, then we decided to split in two because the first book was too long. It will take several battles, lots of blood and a lot of passion, before the story will end!
Wow I'm already super-excited! * __ *
Instead there is anything you would change in your novel?
Right now? Maybe I'd change it into a fantasy for adults, but the publisher won't allow me to do that ever! For the rest, absolutely nothing.
A preview of the sequel (no spoilers) for the curious, like me? > __ <
I can tell you that for the Prince Galadir will be very hard to resist to the sadistic attraction that darts between him and Deshre: now it's up to him to become the protagonist and demonstrate how extraordinarily unique he is, between blood and intense dramatic moments.
Well Galadir is undoubtedly a very intriguing guy, very simple and maybe that's why it attracts more!
One last question, what would you recommend to those who want to start writing?
I would advise you buy a nice notebook and write the main points of the novel to have a precise picture of how the story will evolve: first write the list of characters, the plot and timeline to know exactly what needs to happen and when it should happen. It is very useful for non-interlacing and does not crash! That said, I recommend to never give up!
Thanks, Chiara, for your time and your valuable advice! I can not wait for the release date of the sequel of the Queen of the Underworld, and maybe a new interview to explore other aspects of the saga! A hug and good luck for your creations! ^ __ ^
