I nostri sguardi ingaggiarono un duello dal quale nessuno dei due sarebbe uscito vincitore.
Fui io il primo a sottrarmene per ruotare la piccola chiave nella serratura del cassetto sotto il tavolino. Quando ne tirai fuori il pugnale con cui l'avevo trafitta, lo shock che si manifestò sul suo viso fu impagabile.

I suoi occhi impauriti guizzarono nei miei. «Mai».”
