GAME OF HEARTS is free today (and for the next two weeks) at the Samhain website as well as at Amazon, B&N, Sony and others. Yay! Free is definitely my favorite price.

GAME OF HEARTS was the first of five historical romances I wrote about mail-order brides. They came out in paperback a while ago, but went out of print. Luckily, Samhain is re-releasing them as e-books, so now they’ll be available forever. Four of the books are already out, with the fifth one scheduled for re-release next month. Thanks, Samhain!

The books were linked by using the same marriage broker for each “match,” but as an added bonus, there are actually two matches in GAME OF HEARTS. We have the heroine Suzannah, whose heart was broken by a handsome wrangler, so she decides to tag along to California when her friend Megan becomes a mail-order bride. But it turns out Megan’s mail-order groom is Aengus, the hunky guy who broke Suzannah’s heart. Much confusion ensues, but by the end, it’s all sorted out. Aengus turns out to be a great catch, and then there’s a roguish gambler the girls met on the train who proves to be unorthodox-but-excellent husband material himself.
