Hidden Talents *tththhppppttt*

I shouldn’t even say this, but what the fuck is happening with the Hidden Talents series?

It’s amazing how much you can lose with a little bit of editing. I’ve been working on these stories and characters for so long — so long! — and I really thought they worked so well in an episodic saga.

Now that the feedback has started coming in, I realize I’ve been standing a little too close to my own artwork. When I step back I can see what a tangled web it is for a casual reader. I’m so disappointed in myself for not understanding that better from the beginning.

The fragmented style of storytelling I was going for isn’t just exhausting for the reader — it’s exhausting for me, too. That’s when you know your ship needs some critical repairs. I should have focused on two characters from the beginning, kept the world small, and brought in all the other angsty little bastards one tooth at a time.

Such a waste of the beautiful covers my boyfriend has been making for me…
