The Small Hand

The Small Hand The Small Hand by Susan Hill

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I read this again yesterday - yes, you can easily read it in one sitting, it's a novella - and I liked it more the second time round. It will never have the impact of The Woman in Black but it's eerie and unnerving all the same. The language is very crisp and unflowery most of the time but there is the odd passage of description which really evokes the setting. Personally I'd have liked a bit more of this but that's just me.
