I can't believe The List is finally out! I feel like I've been waiting for this day since I was 10 years old and decided to be an author. It sounded really fun back then and it turns out, it is really fun! But there's also a heck of a lot of work involved.
To celebrate the book coming out today, I went to DC bookstore Kramers with two of my best friends from college and bought my own book! It was super exciting and the book seller thought I was a little nuts to be paying for it, but pishposh! It was definitely one of those memorable moments and I'm so glad I was able to share it with good friends. I also told random shoppers in the store to buy my book and basically accosted a Children's International volunteer and begged him to buy it too. Modern day marketing I call it, though he might have called it harassment with a smile.
My wonderful editor Sarah reminded me today that you only get one first book release day and she told me to take pause to enjoy it. So I did stop tweeting, facebooking and generally freaking out long enough to do that. She always has the best advice!
Thanks to everyone who has bought The List so far! I would love to know what you think.
