Record numbers attended the Carlisle Book Group discussion of The Twelve O'Clock Bus. They had a lively discussion of many aspects of the book and all really enjoyed it-some read it twice.
Here are some of their comments:
"The author handles the big scenes well - the rape scene, the political scene and the main theme of coming of age from foster child to independent woman. An ambitious piece of work and it succeeds!"
"The description of the farm during the depression is impressive, the reader feels they are there."
"Poignant and tender."
