A link to chapter 1 of 'Unbound'

http://totallybookedblog.com/2013/05/...

The rather lovely ladies of TotallyBooked tied me to a chair and made me write the first chapter for them. Fortunately, they've shared it with everyone, so you can read it too. Along with a particularly honest interview (and the chance to win goodies. Including something chosen/signed/scribbled all over by me).

I've just re-read it, and I sound like an absolute nutjob.

Karen I don't think you sound like a nut job at all. I loved it! Besides, by being yourself, and answering the questions honestly, I learned two new, awesome and essential words that I can add to my vocabulary: whiffle and bimbling. I especially love bimbling because it perfectly exemplifies how my children walk down the aisle when they are shopping with me at the grocery store. I've always thought of them as June bugs bimbling to and fro across the aisle. Walking aimlessly in front of, then bumping into my cart. (See how perfect it is?)

The comment you made about Blaine and Coyle is one of the reasons I cannot get TTM out of my head. The fact that I am 100% sure there are people out there just like them, and the others that "played" with Finn, is what makes the "hard" scenes that much more horrific. I think about that a lot.

So excited for Unbound. The chapter was great and what I was hoping for. I'm GLAD you didn't just write an epilogue. I don't think it would have been believable, and would have cheapened their experiences, in my opinion. The strength it took for Finn to survive what he did was amazing, but I think the strength that it will take for Finn to start living, will have to be even greater. I can't wait for you to show us.

God, this is so long....with paragraphs...ugh!!! I'm a freaky, weird stalker!!! *awkward pause* So sorry. I'm done now. :D

Thank you so much for this (in paragraphs, and *everything* - I like that I have freaky weird stalkers with an eye for grammar and correct layout!). I really appreciate the feedback - it looks as though I've managed to get the tone right for readers :D

'To bimble' is a superb verb; I use it a lot ('Going for a bimble around our local garden centre' is a favourite pastime of mine). 'Bingie' (noun) is another good one: this is a word for any tiny bit of unidentified stuff on the floor, usually collected by cats/dogs and eaten/scattered around the floor for an hour.

Hugs, Tabitha x

So bimble is what you call the stuff that accumulates in the corners of my kitchen. We have hardwood floors, and everyday I have to sweep up "stuff" that appears there. Where does it come from? Do we track it in? Are we that messy, or does it just grow from thin air?? Bimble is a much better name for it than "crap in the corners of the kitchen."

Hope you have a great day!!

You're getting your 'bimbles' and 'bingies' mixed up! And the correct term for fluff and assorted crap behind doors and sofas is 'slut's wool' :D

AAAAHHHHHHH it's so confusing!!!! You're right I'm thinking bimble when I should be thinking bingie.

There'll be an end of term test.

Sanny Oh yay! I'm almost afraid to read it though as it'll make the wait so much longer buuuuut I'm not very confident that I'll hold out very long ;)

Karen I've got to use them in a real life situation, and then I'll have them down!! People here in Kansas will be so impressed. They will wonder where I'm from. I'll be using words they've never heard before, with a Kansas accent. It will be lovely!!!
