Why is this a bad idea?

I'm watching television, and one of those Save the Children commercials comes on. One of the ones where you get a picture of a kid missing a tooth and sitting next to an open sewer. Heartrending.
This is immediately followed by another commercial lamenting the plight of abandoned dogs and cats. Also, deeply heartrending.
It hits me right away. This idea.
Why not send the malnourished kids the dogs and cats? Food and clothing, one shot.
Reasonable solution?
Just saying.

Renee E Or send the dogs the kids . . .

Although the dogs, being more humane, would rarely take advantage of that situation.

Haaaaaaaaahhhhh!! You....and me....see the power of the shit-eating grin. My daughter--the vet--smacked me upside the head when she read this. Then giggled. A lot. :}

Renee E A vet! You're a proud dad then. A gal with her priorities straight. Big or small animal practice?

She might appreciate this: one of the vets I've used with my dogs refers to Filas as "alligators with fur," although he likes and appreciates mine. I start taking them in when they're little, to socialize and get to know everyone so it's not a big deal later on.

My Kharma likes kids. Especially the undisciplined, rude sorts. She likes them best rare, with habanero sauce and a side of guacamole. (No, she's never really so much as laid a tooth on one, lol. She gets behind me and pokes me with her nose and gives me the "okay, make it go-the-hell-away, if I acted like that you'd throttle me" look. But she's got better judgement and smarts (and social adeptness) than 999 out of 1000 people I run across.

E.D. Lynnellen Happy dad. One vet.., one teacher. One small animal practice.., the other deals with larger primates. Heh. Although, I do sense the desire to eventually make a move to an area where a large animal practice would be required. Hubby's career is a concern.

She took home a pitt that had been a "bait dog" after six months surgery and recovery in clinic. I vehemently disagreed, but she said.."look past the jaws and into his heart".

I call him my grandpuppy.

She has said shepards are assholes, but they can't help it. :}
