My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I just finished "Falling Man" and found it to be true to all Don DeLillo's writing, i.e. disturbing and compelling. You either engage with DeLillo or you don't. Ever since "White Noise" all those years ago, I have engaged. This is not a lightweight book. It is hardly a beach read, although I did spend most of a Sunday morning in my bathing suit sweating on my deck drinking ice water and ice coffee reading it. It is a 9-11 story, plain and simply. That said, there is something extraordinary simple about the way DeLillo strings his sentences together. And that is deceptive.
