New book out!

Hi, all,

Our new book, Storm Riders, volume two in the Dragon Brigade series, is out from Tor! Thrilled to report that this book received a starred *** review from Publishers Weekly and a starred *** review from Kirkus!

Kirkus says:
“The series is also blessedly rich in strong, intriguing female characters, including Miri, the stubborn captain of the balloon ship Cloud Hopper; her mute, damaged but magically powerful sister, Gythe; Eiddwen, the ruthless mistress of disguise who serves the Bottom Dwellers; and especially Countess Cecile, the true power behind the Rosian throne, who has hidden her marriage to an executed traitor and her love for their apparently bastard son Stephano so that her many enemies will not target him.”

Publisher's Weekly says:
They’re abetted by a variety of dragons, such as the noble mansion-dwellers of Rosia and the wild iridescent youngster that Cecile’s estranged son, Stephano, yearns to ride into battle; the beasts are standouts in the genre, wistful, intriguing, and utterly convincing.

We had so much fun writing these books. Hope you have fun reading them!

K. Lewis Awesome, it's on my list!
We met once at Bencon in Denver (~10 years ago). You signed my annotated Chronicles, and then gave me your email address. I was too starstruck to ever use it, because I couldn't think of anything more intelligent than, "your books are so cool." I followed you out of Dragonlance into the Deathgate Cycle, and then discovered the Rose of the Prophet after that (my favorite). Read the Star of the Guardians in college and loved that too, and came back to Draglonlance for the series about Mina. Glad to see there's more to come from you, and look forward to getting into this trilogy. Your books are some of those which inspired me to write and create, and now I'm indy writing with KDP. Thanks.
