I loved this snippet of your novel...what a great writer you are...I'm jealous so now I'm a FAN! Please take a peak at my "Immortal Relations" guardian vampire novels if you get time, while I'm told they are unique I like your style of writing more!

The first novel is perhaps too "adult" there is a LOT of EXPLICIT TOGETHERNESS (sex) in it. I wrote it that way to confirm that my vampires, while protective of humans and animals DO NOT suffer the sexual hang-ups of humans. I may go back and edit out a bit of the explicit parts of the "mind-meld" training with multiple participants. The local brick and mortar bookstore that carries my novels had a complaint that the first one was "Erotica" and they had to move it to that area of shelves (it sold more copies there in a week than it had in months in the main area). LOL If you're brave http://amzn.com/B006ZCBT6G is Book one (I'll edit it soon for some errors I've found). The second book is a lot better novel IMHO. It is packed with action. http://amzn.com/B00A4IEHL6 The third book will infuriate those who support the current regime in Washington, but I just extrapolate what they have been doing already and place them in the situation of my book, so I feel their actions are right on for the way they have already behaved. Don't have a link for it yet. Thanks again for taking a look at them...please tell me what you think...my writing style is more like the old, cold warrior that I am rather than the lovely prose you turn out...oh, how I wish I could do what you do!!!
Thanks for your comment, I may modify the "seven on one" scene a little and the joint mating of vampire mother & "adopted" vampire daughter with the human they recently turned. It may make the first novel a little less like erotica. It seems (locally at least) that books run into trouble when considered Erotica, while Erotic doesn't get folks riled up as much. I think it is a matter of "degrees" and that is what the problem currently seems to be at my local bookstore. I just dropped both the first and second novel's price down to 99 cents on Kindle to maybe get some more feedback. It only has three comments right now and while five stars, I don't think that is indicative of how most readers will view it. There are a number of technical glitches as well I've found. So I'm at the very least going to make those changes.
I agree KDP is great; however, I loved writing my first novel almost as much as the second. The first felt a little as if I was "channeling it" (I know, that is weird for someone trained in psychology, but I've seen channeling and remote viewing before, just NOT from me!) LOL I think the second one was more fun because the characters are now my friends & I've even become emotional when one is sick (as a human). That may mean it is time for my formal psychological evaluation - but they do seem to have become REAL to me (Cue the theme from the old Television show The Twilight Zone and watch Rod Serling (reanimated) discuss this author's mental breakdown! LOL I will say the third in the series was more difficult to write as it discusses the terrible danger our country is really faced with - that is a highly emotional topic for any old soldier. How I wish my good vampires were really around to safeguard our Constitutional freedoms. By the way, I just dropped the price on my first two down to .99 and JUST SO YOU WON'T HAVE TO PAY EVEN THAT, I'm putting both up for FREE: the first on Oct. 3-5 & the second book FREE on Oct. 6 & 7. I hadn't used my KDP Free Days in a very long time (not since my first book came out, I think those five days were in 2012.
Sorry I missed saying Happy Birthday on your special day! Yes, borderline craziness is helpful for a writer of any genre' that has an element of fantasy. Perhaps it is my 20+ years in the military but indecisiveness has never been my problem. I often think the problem I have is the "Fools rush in where angles fear to tread" the opposite problem to yours. LOL
Back at you on success...for me it isn't the $$ it is getting my stories in the hands of readers (print or digital). My characters, who I love deserve to be "brought to life" through their being shared and I believe strongly in their message of goodness and protecting our Constitution and Bill of Rights from the evil usurpers!
I've come to the realization that I write so that I can keep my communication with my friends whose story I get the honor of telling (Alternate Universe???). LOL
Gary Logan is Guy Ogan...maybe that is one reason I like him so much! Now if he only had Maggie by his side! LOL
I'd downloaded your new book the other night but was still reading "Underground Vampire" (rather long with lots of twists and turns...ending was a downer but that may just be a set-up for a rehabilitating sequel, at least I hope that is the intent). Anyway, I've just started to read it, but have to drive to Fort Worth to put the crew on a flight to Southern California so won't get much time to do more reading until I get back later in the week. Hope you have a great week yourself...hope to hear your good sales numbers soon!
I'd committed to being on several blogs during that time period (long before the Disneyland thing came up) & my "passion" is not "carnival rides" but writing and reading works of great (if under appreciated) writers, such as yourself! (-;
I've been so busy I haven't had time to check all the E-Mails and sites...sounds like you've been busy as well what with your new website and now being asked to write the article! SO COOL...wishing you the VERY BEST!
I agree (after all Blood is thicker than Water) LOL I got back from my two-day trip picking up the two adult ladies and five "children" (only one of which is of child size - three are adult size & a "girl-friend" of our "out-of-control 17 year old stud*" who went along is a bit shorter than the two adults). They only went to Disneyland one day as the real reason they went was to attend a wedding.*I'm sure the Marine Corp could shape him up -and he needs it!
FYI: Tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1:00 PM EST, I'm supposed to be on a Blog tomorrow - I believe I'm to be ready to answer questions (I've never done that kind of Blog before) but I'll stand-by to do so. Here is the link when it goes active: Lisa Mondello's blog site is scheduled to post on Tuesday, October 15th at 1:00am EST : www.lisamondello.blogspot.com.
THANKS MUCHO! I've got to sign off in a few but the blog goes on for another couple of hours for the West Coast Crowd I guess.
Lisa Mondello did a GREAT JOB of putting together what I'd sent her for the blog. While it got no comments I hope a few folks stopped in long enough to see that I do have a series of novels and maybe the main title will stick in someone's memory. As always, thank you for your kindness and supportive comments...it really makes "promoting the books" less daunting to have someone who understands. (-;
Yeah I was going to do a blog hop type thing with Paul but I couldn't figure out how to get the connections to the other authors posted to my part of the blog, so I dropped out. I may do some one on one blogs but I'll never try a blog hop again...to confusing for an old man like me. As for advertising on your car I've had bumper-stickers made up that say: "Immortal Relations" a very
Unique Paranormal Romance
Series on Amazon and Kindle
The background is bright red with white letters and I had "business cards" made up with a tiny picture of the cover of my second book with the http:// codes of all three books as well as my name and BlogSpot.com but I like your idea of using "Tempura" paint on the car, truck or van! (-;
You can E-Mail me at gog6692@msn.com and give me your mailing address and I'll mail you a bumpersticker and a few of my cards (the cards are rather "busy" as they contain a LOT of information), but it may give you an idea for cards with a bit less on them. I get my stuff made at buildasign.com 11525A Stonehollow Dr., Austin, TX 78758. They have an on-line location connected with their .com that lets you design and see what your sign (or whatever) will look like and you can stretch the letters to run to the edge of the bumper-sticker, card or what have you to get more on what you design (which of course makes a card "busy" as mine will attest), but I like the way the bumper-stickers turned out. (-:
Hope you have a great weekend! I'll get a pair of bumper-stickers in the mail to you today along with a few of those cards I told you about.
That is awesome...is she in a band?!! How totally cool that would be. I used to have an electric guitar but as I was a "Lefty" everything was upside down...kind of like me I guess! LOO+L
You are more than welcome...hey, did you ever get the chance to finish either of my Kindle books...probably not with all you are doing right now (the saying: As busy as a one armed paper=hanger in a storm comes to mind! LOL
Oh I SOOO look forward to what you think once you've finished book one and start into book two! By the way, I'm mentioning "Revelations of Cian" on a blog write-up I'm doing for the 27th with Leesie Lis. It asked for my latest "Keeper" added to my bookshelf! (-;
Your a sweetheart! I was over at our car club tonight and several of the fellows said they would come over to the Halloween night book signing at Hastings I'm having (probably just to see me in my "traditional" Vampire Costume) - of course my Guardian Vamps have normal clothes (no Goth or Frilly Cuffs for them) and they don't stick out like I will in my costume (but it's Halloween and it will be FUN)! Past book signings have only netted sales of about five or six books per title, but it is SO MUCH FUN TALKING VAMPIRES and even getting even one new reader will be worth it! If rain seems unlikely I'll drive over in our 64 Studebaker Station-wagon...it looks original but has a lot of mods to make it go, stop, steer and ride better. LOL
OH SHAME ON ME! Did I fail to tell you that Hastings Books and Video Stores will carry (stock and sell) their LOCAL AUTHORS' BOOKS and that you can arrange for BOOK SIGNINGS (just not in the Holidays) - MY BAD! They won't order the books from CreateSpace, etc., you will have to provide them (ordered at your "author's rate + tax (yeah the book will have been taxed twice after you've paid State Tax and upon sale by Hastings).I think my books cost me a little under $3 each but the SHIPPING IS A KILLER bringing my cost to almost $5 each, so after Hastings gets their cut (I think we do a 60-40 arrangement, 60% for me and 40% for them - but this may depend upon the store) I think I clear about $0.50 per book. But, for me, who isn't looking for big buck$ but rather to have people enjoy the world I wish I was actually "existing" in*...my book signings are a tremendous shot of ecstasy! I wonder if people like J.K Rowling, Stephenie Meyer, etc. with all their book signings enjoy them half as much as I do?! I hope you have a wonderful Friday and an even better weekend!
*Yes, I'd sign up for vampirism in a "New-York-Second" - then I'd take a trip to Washington D.C. = Constitutional Crisis averted! LOL
I visited the store today and took them copies of my third book to put on their shelves - the new "Book Manager" was very nice and we discussed my book signing in costume and placement by the front door. I have a cardboard cut-out of Halloween's "slinky-sexy" Elvira, a silver vase with (fake) black roses and book-stands to display copies of each book. I've typed up some "community event notices" for local newspaper and television spots and some "hand-bills" to be posted at my favorite "haunts" who will display them for me. Speaking of advertising, I was on Lisa Chambers Blog today and here is the part about what has recently been added to my Keeper Shelf: What was the last book to be added to your keeper shelf?
Well, of course, now it is: What was the last book to be added to my Kindle? "Revelations of Cian" is my most recent read and Augusta Fern is going to be the next Ann Rice I predict. Get this book as her second in the series has just been released and you’ll want to hop right into that one.
Hope you like what I said - check out her blog.
Happy to be of some help...Ann Rice sure doesn't need any help, she probably has more adult readers (our own target audience) than J.K. Rowling and Stephenie Meyer put together (but she's been writing for a lot longer than either I believe). I loved her "Servant of the Bones" - but being boiled in Gold wouldn't be a fun way to be changed into anything! LOL
