It is time for a status update. I'm at about 70 pages and just wrote one of the big emotional scenes. I have discovered that writing sex scenes is fun and writing emotional scenes is...depressing. You spend more time entrenched in the emotion than when you are reading so it is more taxing. I'm excited about this book because I feel that the conflicts set it apart from other romances yet they are issues most people can connect with. This will not be a book about cheating or large-scale misunderstandings (though some misunderstandings are a given...no one is perfect).

My writing process has become less linear as of late. I've found myself writing scenes out of sequence. At first, it was because I needed a break from the depressing stuff but I've found that I like the freedom of writing what is on my mind rather than being limited by where I am in the story. In fact, I have written the last sentence of the book (No...it is not "The end."). The editing process will be a joy, I am sure.
