Worth getting up for...

So, I had to do a few hours in work this morning and waking up all cosy in my bed and hearing the wind and rain outside, not to mention how dark it was, was not inspiring me to get up. However I did have the added incentive of going off to see a Pantomime with the family later on (one of my fave things about Christmas).

I dragged my tired self out of bed, still feeling the festive spirit and not really feeling the 'lets return back to normal routine' spirit.

The train was eerily quite as only a few people were on board making their own journey to work, the wind was howling around the carriage as it trundled closer to the station.

Wrapped up against the cold I walked through the station, in my own little world, which was miles away from where I actually was.

Then, I made my usual call into the station shop and chatted to the lady behind the counter as I purchased my usual diet coke. We chat most mornings and we exchanged Christmas wishes and asked each other if we'd 'had a good one'. She then told me that she'd got a kindle for Christmas and would be downloading my books and she was looking forward to reading them. Instantly feeling happy and excited we chatted for a few more minutes about my books then I left the shop, heading off to work, my step having a little bit more of a spring in it, a small smile on my face. Writing is what makes me truly happy. So, it had been worth getting up for after all!
