LIFE IS NOT A BED OF ROSES (PART-3)
Next day, she was plentifully excited to meet Manpreet. She went for her classes and came back at 2 p.m. Then, she was lost in her own world, in her own thoughts; she was confused about what she should wear. It was one of the ever-wished-moment for her which was about to come true, so she had to look most beautiful girl on this planet!! After trying (wearing and removing) almost every dress she chose one in which she found herself most beautiful. She wore sky blue Salwar Kammez. After checking herself zillionth time in mirror, “Now all perfect” she said to herself and moved to canteen. She reached canteen at planned time. As she never adored getting late, Manpreet was already waiting for her there. He was also excited to meet her. He was well dressed in formals. She was looking attractive so he got attracted.
They greeted each other ‘Hi-Hello’. They took a corner bench so that no one could disturb them. Meanwhile, Manpreet ordered two hot coffees. Then both were looking at each other, may be for who would start conversation first. Radhika was looking at him, he was avoiding eye contact. Guy was shy… I tell you! So breaking the silence Radhika initiated the talk and asked “So what your coach said you, yesterday?”
“Nothing much, actually he said us to pack up instruments.” He answered her question.
“Okay. So, how are you? How’s university life going on?” She asked.
“Everything is fine. What about you?” He answered her question and asked one, so that he could keep the conversation going on.
“Same here, everything is fine.” She said.
“From where you are? Do you live in hostel?” she asked to continue their conversation.
“I am from Patiala and I lives in hostel. From where you are?”
“I am from Ludhiana.” She said.
Then their placed-order arrived and was put on the table in between them by waiter. They both held their coffee cups and their conversation grew with coffee sips. They discussed about their likes, dislikes, interest, disinterests and their discussion end up making them friends. So it was a worth discussion.
What two people require being friends…I guess nothing more than understanding!!
So, it was ticket to their regular meetings. They turned out to be close friends. Their discussion was about each other and everything. They started visiting places like rock garden, Sukhna Lake together. He started protecting her in each and every way. She started watching his every play and gave him fair feedback.
She was getting serious towards her future….. With him.
So, after becoming close friends, Radhika thought that it was perfect time to express her feelings to Manpreet. She proposed him on one fine day but Manpreet beat around the bush. He advised her to be only friends close ones. . But Radhika didn’t want any limits set for their relationship. She wanted it to be at extreme level and limitless. She asked him reason but he didn’t have any. So, she asked him either he should tell her reason or he should accept that he loves her. So, seeing all this Manpreet accepted the fact that he was also in love with her. She felt complete after this. Actually that was all she wanted from her life.
After this, their love journey begins. But then, only six months were left for their stay in university, means there courses were about to end in coming six months. They wanted to get most from these 6 months. They spent most of their time together by holding each other’s hand. Both supported each other in every aspect of life.
Then, time flew away like birds. Time came when their respective courses got completed. It was the final day of their college. Tears everywhere….
Everyone was getting their t-shirts signed, hugging each other, crying, and making promises. Then, they moved to their respective homes.
So, as they were at their respective homes now. Their regular meetings came to an end. They had only contact over phone which too was very limited because Manpreet never called her, only she called him and when she asked him the reason for this, he used to beat around bush. She never understood this but she ignored it by thinking that he must be busy.
Also, Radhika got a job in private school in Ludhiana even her family was very rich and never wanted her to do job. But she was doing it for experience and to kill free time. Even her pay was not even enough to pay their family’s one time lunch expenses in any 5 star hotel but she was stubborn enough and she made her own decision.
On the other hand, Manpreet didn’t get work anywhere. He tried at many places but all sent him back by keeping his resume and watching his performance. He got same response everywhere that they kept his resume, they will inform him. But, none of them contacted him further. He didn’t left any advertisement agency, stage performing groups, modeling but success was far away from him. Those officials who showed some positive response to him demanded money (bribe) for his recruitment. Means after wondering everywhere, he wasn’t able to secure any job, neither big nor small and was unwantedly jobless.
The irony of the life was not that he was unable to secure any job. But the irony of life was that he was the same person who was appreciated by thousands of people for his acting till now. Now he was unable to impress even a single one for job. Or the thing was that no one wanted to get impress because they prefer money more than lives.
to be Continued..
