Thinking about it now, my writing’s transition has been quick and actually quite dramatic. Just a couple of years ago, my audience was usually just one person, typically professors, meaning my audience was most often paid to read my words. I wrote and still write quite a bit, and sometimes when I share a little, the odd person enjoys reading my words—and now nobody pays him or her to read those words!
Most weekdays somewhere around 500 people read one of my blogs, which is a little strange because I don't really post regularly. My writing’s transitioning and its finding people who want to read my words, like you, right now. And some people even pay to read my words when they buy a book (and of course, some editors are still paid to read my words). That’s the slow transition to Writer, and it feels pretty neat.
