Out of the Ashes Outtake

So as promised here is a scene that did not make it into the book (and for good reason too): (Please keep in mind that this isn't edited. This scene never even made it that far. But I love possessive Ian!!!)

“Would the lady like to take a turn around the floor?” He says chivalrously. “Why I would be most delighted, Mr. Parker.” I reply in my best Southern accent, which I am quite certain sounds a lot better in my head than rolling off my tongue. He laughs at me and takes my hand.
I feel his presence before I see him. I am on the dance floor with Will having a nice time when the air charges and I know what is coming. Will is laughing and talking about some crazy thing his roommate did last week on the fire escape. And with the amount of drinks I have consumed, I am giggling away at his story. We are face to face so it’s not like I am grinding on him or anything because that is just not something I want to be doing right now. I see Will’s face pale and I feel someone’s breath on my neck. I think poor Will is expecting me to push the offending body away from me. But instead I lean into him and his arms come around my waist. “Why Ms. Brooks, this is certainly not what I expected when I came to find you this evening.” I don’t say anything; I just close my eyes and relish his touch.
Taking this as some sort of invitation, Will moves forward into me. Great now I am going to be a Celeste sandwich. Before Will can press himself against me, Ian wags his finger back and forth at him, indicating that this is not something he should do. Maybe Ian’s drunk too because I have never seen him this calm when another man is paying attention to me. The snarky bitch in the back of my head decides to throw her two cents into the ring. Or maybe he’s just done with you and doesn’t give a shit what you do with this guy. I feel my eyes cloud over and the tears threaten to spill again.
Ian extends his hand, “Ian Jacobs.” Will shakes hand with him. “Pleasure Ian. Will Parker. I think my firm is helping in the design of your new warehouse project.” Great, now they’re best buddies. Ian nods to Will. “Well, Will thanks for taking care of my girl here. It appears she is out past her bedtime so I better get her home.” Ian smiles over at him and the shock is clear on Will’s face. “I’m sorry Will. It was nice to meet you.”
“You too, Celeste. Sorry I won’t get to hear the roommate, ex-roommate, roommate story.” He gives me a sad smile. I feel like a shit. “Well, you two enjoy your evening.” Then he moves off to the other side of the dance floor and Ian is steering me to the exit.
