Ivanhoe a dozen times?? Wow! I read that once in high school. I've not come close to reading any books almost a dozen times. However, I could see myself, if I live long enough, reading a few books close to that amount of times.I do share a couple of your rereads: I've read both Watchers and The Stand twice.
I think the novel I've read the most is
, which I've read 3 times.
Ivanhoe is like comfort food for me in book form. :) I read at least once every 2 years or so. The Tempest by Shakespeare I have read a ton, too. I reread lots of books at least half a dozen times or more, mostly sci-fi like the Zalazny series, and Chronicles of Narnia, Ursuala Le Guin's books, stuff by Robin McKinley and Koontz and a lot of King, etc.I will have to check out the Straub book, I don't think I have ever made it though one of his books.
It seems like people either love or hate Strabu's books. He is often not an easy read, though I do love his stuff. I've got to read some Shakespeare. Haven't done that since high school, and I think I'd enjoy it much more now, even perhaps read it aloud to my kids. Might be kind of fun. Thanks for mentioning him.
