Oh winter, you beautiful, harsh season. You make me wear thick jumpers, double my hot drink intake, stay indoors and write stories about snow, ice and white skies.
But wait! A reason to leave the house in January! After the dazzling success of Falkirk's Home Game, the lovely folks at
[Untitled]
and
The Grind
have teamed up again for Away Game - a literary muddle of prose, poetry and music all to raise money for the foodbanks of Edinburgh.
I'll be reading something from my as-yet-unpublished-looking-for-a-home-go-on-you-know-you-want-to novel
Baggage, and by then I should be fighting fit so I can really go for it.
Baggage is full of drinking, drugs, fighting and romance. It's quite like
Shop Front
, in a way, come to think of it.
Anyway, Home Game raised enough to buy three big fat trollies worth of grub, so let's hope the good people of Edinburgh can add to that.
You can
RSVP here and get your tickets
here. Go on, you get to see all of these great artsy types, it's only a fiver, and there isn't much worthier a cause.
