I'm sorry to see Homebase Linlithgow shut down. That store was the inspiration for much of Shop Front and, frankly, meant I barely had to use my imagination for huge chunks of the plot and many of the characters. Essentially, I owe a book to that building.
So here's to all the shelf stackers, till bleepers and weird customers - long may your stores flood and your tills crash and your staff find customers still hiding in the toilets long after close.
